TICO BULL – Without a doubt Costa Rica is one of the most expensive to live in the region. This fact is brought home with examples of national products, like Cacique guaro and Dos Pinos ice cream manufactured in Ticolandia, but sells more here than abroad.
Here are two examples highlighted by readers of the “El Infierno en Costa Rica“, where a bottle of Cacique costs double at home that in Guatemala (at the current exchange rate) and Dos Pinos Vanilla ice cream costing almost half in Panama that it costs here.
Both plants, the Cacique and Dos Pinos, are on the autopista Bernardo Soto, west of the Juan Santamaria airport in Alajuela.
